4. Can diesel fuel cause the engine oil level to rise?

Yes. Excessive fuel dilution can raise the apparent oil level and make the oil thinner. Repeated interrupted DPF regeneration may contribute to this condition. An oil level above maximum, particularly when the oil smells strongly of diesel, should be inspected.

5. Is a yellow oil light less serious than a red oil light?
